Three distinctive artists, each known for making their own music as well as playing with internationally acclaimed bands like Jose James, Finn Silver and Cinematic Orchestra find their careers weaving in together.

Drummer Richard Spaven, vocalist Fridolijn van Poll and guitarist Stuart McCallum have in common that they thrive in that beautiful space where genres blur. In the cracks between folk, jazz, electronica and cinematic music. All three of them released highly acclaimed albums in the past years. They are collaborating by playing, writing and producing on each of these records, which makes touring together a natural next step.

Following the release of Be Brave, a new single due to release in June on Edition Records (UK) the three artists will tour together during 2017/2018. In an atmospheric, deep and dreamlike live concert Richard Spaven, Fridolijn & Stuart McCallum will share the stage, playing new music as well as music of all three of their solo albums.  The band consists of Richard Spaven on drums, Stuart McCallum on guitars, Fridolijn on vocals, supported by Robin Mullarkey on bass.

London based drummer and producer Richard Spaven has established himself as a unique drummer playing and recording with artists like José James, Flying Lotus, The Cinematic Orchestra, Guru’s Jazzmatazz, Gregory Porter and Finn Silver. With the release of his full-length studio album Whole Other* he proves himself not only as a drummer but also as a producer with a unique style somewhere between the realms of jazz and electronica, subtly bridging the gap between the two worlds using grooves that blend contemporary jazz and bass-heavy downtempo electronics. Whole Other prominently features Stuart McCallum’s signature sound as well as Fridolijn's ambient voice on tracks 'The Look' out and 'Assemble'.

Amsterdam based Fridolijn first appeared with the release of 'Crossing the Rubicon', by her band Finn Silver, which brought her to international stages like Billboard Live Tokyo as well as North Sea Jazz Festival. A versatile singer emerged: she became a member of Singer/Songwriter supergroup 'Ladies of the Lowlands', toured internationally with British jazzband Kairos 4tet, pianist Gideon van Gelder, guitarist Stuart McCallum (UK) and became host of the monthly vocal session at Amsterdam’s North Sea Jazzclub.  In 2016 she released Catching Currents;  a striking solo debut that blurs the boundaries between cinematic folk, jazz, electronica, and broken beats and blends them into touching songs.

Manchester based Guitarist Stuart McCallum received wide recognition for playing with the Cinematic Orchestra, performing and writing for the band’s critically acclaimed albums, ‘Ma Fleur’ and ‘Live At The Royal Albert Hall’.

2015 saw the release of his album CITY, where McCallum steps deep into the world of electronica, whilst still maintaining that magical combination of both acoustic and electronic instruments that gives his music such a distinctive sound. The beautiful ambient-electronica-jazz soundscape album is produced by Richard Spaven, who he met during his time playing with Cinematic Orchestra and features haunting vocal textures by Fridolijn amongst other guest vocalists.
